Brevard County, FL-An Ormond Beach man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on I-95 Thursday that shut lanes in Brevard County for hours. FHP says 59-year-old William Lisle was at the wheel of a semi involved in the accident.

The accident happened when a truck going southbound and hauling an excavator had a tire separation. The truck driven by Lisle and two passenger vehicles were northbound. The southbound truck went through the guard rail and the excavator left the trailer and hit the northbound truck head on killing Lisle. The two passenger vehicles were hit by debris from the wreck. Neither of those drivers were hurt.

The driver of the southbound truck, identified as 48-year-old Douglas Platt of Melbourne, had serious injuries. He was hospitalized at Holmes Regional Hospital.

FHP says the investigation continues.
