Volusia County, FL-FHP is looking for a hit and run driver in an accident on I-4 Saturday night that killed an Ormond Beach man who was traveling with his 9-year-old son. The boy suffered serious injuries and is at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Troopers say 47-year-old Thomas Reece was driving eastbound at MM 126 around 10:35 PM Saturday night in the center lane when another vehicle traveling in the same direction behind his changed lanes and lost control. The second vehicle ended up sideswiping Reece's 2004 GMC SUV and sent it off the roadway where it overturned. Reece was ejected from the vehicle and troopers say he was not wearing a seatbelt. Reece died at the scene. The child, Austin Reece, was in a safety restraint and was airlifted from the scene. Witnesses describe the hit and run suspect vehicle as a white Chevy Malibu which had a headlight out prior to the accident. The vehicle may also have a right front quarter panel of a different color.
