spilled groceries Ormond Beach, FL - An Ormond Beach man allegedly punched his wife in the face after she criticized how he was bringing groceries into their house. The victim told FCSO deputies that shortly after arriving home from the grocery store on Tuesday night, August 2nd, she suggested to her husband, 70-year-old Peter Raffaele Petrera, that they go through the garage instead of the front door. This suggestion seemed to frustrate Petrera, and after the couple went inside, he kicked his wife in the leg then punched her in the face, injuring her leg and nose. Deputies took several photos of the visible injuries that were consistent with her statement. Petrera told deputies that his wife made several frustrating comments, and he was "sick and tired of it," so he walked towards her aggressively, got in her face and yelled. Then, according to his statement, she grabbed his glasses from his face and threw them on the ground, scratching his face in the process. Petrera said he didn't know where his wife's injuries and marks on her face and leg came from. Photos were taken of Petrera, and the police report indicates there were visible injuries consistent with his statement. Photos were also taken of shattered glass on the floor. Petrera was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident. According to FCSO, there was a prior domestic dispute in Duval County involving the couple that was handled by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. peter raffaele petrera
