One Week Left To Register To Vote In General Election

Deland, FL - For those that haven't registered to vote in the November 6th general election. Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis wants you to know that it's not too late. Lewis said as of today, there are just over 396,000 registered voters in Volusia County with Democrats at over 136,000, Republicans at over 139,000 and no party or minor party registrants total just over 120,000. Procrastinators have one week from today to get registered and it can be done in a number of ways. Applications are available at your local post office, library or other government offices. You can fill out your application online but you will have to print it out. Each registration needs an original signature or mark before you turn it in or mail it. Lewis said that she had scheduled the vote-by-mail ballots to start going out today but the resignation of Senator Dorothy Hukill could change the type of notice to be included. Today is the first day the ballots could go out. Lewis said that she will have them out by the end of the week one way or the other. She also said it's not too late to request a vote-by-mail ballot. They will go out every day through October 31st.
