Officials Identify Victim Of Possible Homicide At A Daytona Beach Shores Hotel

Daytona Beach Shores, FL - Update: Officials have confirmed the identity of the 34-year-old woman who died at the Hawaiian Inn. Olympia Cerruti was identified as the deceased woman and her next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing and at this time, no arrests have been made. Earlier Reporting: Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety is investigating a potential homicide after a woman died from an injury in a Daytona Beach Shores hotel. Officials responded to the Hawaiian Inn at 2301 S. Atlantic Ave. on Friday at 5:23 AM after they received word of a CPR call in progress. When they arrived, officers found a 34-year-old woman in full cardiac arrest and suffering from a traumatic injury. Attempts to revive the woman were unsuccessful, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Multiple witnesses were interviewed, and the Volusia County Sheriff's Office processed the crime scene. The case is being treated as a homicide. Officials say the woman had an open warrant for human trafficking. Police are still attempting to notify next-of-kin. The woman's name and cause of death have not yet been released, and the case is still in the early stages. More information will be released as it comes available.
