OBPD Investigating Possible Shooting At Ormond Residence That Left 1 Dead

Ormond Beach, FL Update: The Ormond Beach Police Department believes that the cause of death at the residence at 1 China Moon Dr. in Ormond Beach was a self-inflicted gunshot. The victim was a 28-year-old. Police say there is no threat to the public.

The Ormond Beach Police Department (OBPD) is investigating a possible shooting inside the residence of 1 China Moon Drive.

At around 1:30 PM on Saturday, police responded to the residence after receiving reports about a suspected shooting. OBPD advised the surrounding area to evacuate and sent out a Code Red to the neighborhood to urge them to stay indoors.

A crisis negotiator was not able to make contact with anyone inside the residence so the Volusia County Bomb Team was called in. The team’s robot was used to discover a deceased person located inside the residence.

The matter is currently under investigation and updates will be posted as more information is released.
