Daytona Beach, FL – A man from NY is facing animal cruelty charges after he left 3 dogs in a hot car on Wednesday while he was shopping for clothes at the Volusia Mall.

27-year-old Edgar Marcial is facing 3 counts of animal cruelty after the animals were pulled from the vehicle which had an internal temp of 103 degrees.

Animal Control said the dogs were in distress so a wrecking service was called to open the car. According to officials, one of the dogs appeared to be unconscious and a second was too weak to stand on its own.
