NWS: Volusia Bike Week Is In For Cooler Weekday Weather & A Weekend Warm Up

Volusia County, FL - The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a weather forecast outlook for Monday through the remainder of Bike Week. Monday morning saw concentrated showers with lightning and wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph and possibly 45-50 mph. The NWS says the showers were expected to end by late Monday morning, but that there would be a possibility for a light afternoon shower. The Monday lows were forecasted to be in the lower 40s and the highs were forecasted to be in the 70s. In the afternoon, 10 mph west-southwest winds were forecasted to become 15-20 mph west-northwest winds. Frequent gusts of  25-30 mph and as high as 35 mph were also expected. A lake wind advisory is in effect Monday from noon to 8 PM. On Tuesday morning, a strong cold front will move in and cause dry and cool weather through the weekend. From Tuesday to Thursday, the NWS forecasts the highs to be in the mid-60s. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning lows are expected to be near 40. The NWS expects 10 mph northwest winds throughout the day on Tuesday, 15 mph winds throughout the day on Wednesday, and light north-northwest winds on Thursday. On Friday afternoon, temperatures are expected to warm and continue to do so through the weekend. The weekend highs are 72 on Friday, 77 on Saturday, and 79 on Sunday. The low on Saturday morning will be around 50 and 56 on Sunday morning.
