Volusia County, FL - NWS Melbourne is reporting a tropical disturbance will impact FL and Volusia county on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing heavy rain, storms, and possibly hazardous winds.

In Volusia, average rain totals of 2 to 3 inches are expected from late tonight to Wednesday afternoon. Most of that rainfall is expected to hit early tomorrow  and Wednesday morning. Isolated rain totals could reach up to 5 inches. The highest totals are expected to be within 10 miles of the coast.

The highest storm coverage and rainfall is expected tomorrow.

The disturbance could also bring hazardous winds and seas over the open Atlantic. "We're primarily concerned out over the open Atlantic waters with this particular system," said Will Ulrich, Meteorologist with NWS Melbourne. "We're gonna see winds increase to 15 to 20 knots, and maybe even higher than that. We have issued a small craft advisory for the open waters beyond 20 nautical miles. But really, even closer to shore conditions will be less than favorable for mariners."

Lightning could also pose a problem, and wind gusts of up to 30 to 40 mph may be possible.
