NSB after New Smyrna Beach, FL - The city of New Smyrna Beach will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony  on Thursday to celebrate the completion of six new homes. "They're new affordable units that are being added to the inventory of the Housing Authority," said Tony Otte, Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and Economic Development Director for the city of New Smyrna Beach. "That's good because Housing Authority staff says there are a number of families who have had to move out of the historic west side and would love to come back." Officials hope the addition of these affordable houses will provide that opportunity to former residents. "There're 2 single family houses and 2 duplexes," says Otte. "One single family house is on Julia Street and the other units are on Railroad Avenue." The project was made possible by support from the city of NSB, the NSB CRA, the Volusia County Government, and the EPA Grant program. According to Otte, "CRA provided $271,979 in grant funds" towards the project. The ceremony is scheduled for 4 PM on Thursday, April 14 and it will be hosted by the New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority. The public is invited to attend the ceremony along with City and County elected officials. The ribbon cutting will be held at the corner of Dimmick and Railroad. NSB before
