Daytona Beach, FL - Police in Daytona Beach say one person died in a two-vehicle crash on North Nova Road at North Street last night. The police report says a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Selwyn Williams of Holly Hill was northbound on Nova Road in the inside lane and approached the left turn lane. A vehicle driven by 27-year-old Renisha Howard of Daytona Beach was southbound in the inside lane. Williams then tried to turn onto North Street westbound and crossed the concrete median into the southbound lanes of Nova Road. Howard apparently tried to steer right to avoid the oncoming vehicle and the two hit head-on.

Howard was dead at the scene just after 10:30 PM. Three passengers in the vehicle driven by Howard were hurt and taken to Halifax Hospital. All three are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Williams was treated at the hospital and police say charges are pending.
