Northwest FL Man Arrested For Threatening To Kill Volusia County Judge

Posted
Florida - A man from Northwest Florida was arrested early Saturday morning for calling the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and making repeated death threats towards a Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge. Officials say detectives, the judge's courtroom deputy, and the Volusia County Crime Center worked together to identify the voice of 35-year-old Alan McCarty of Milton. He was arrested by Santa Rosa County Sheriff's deputies on Saturday after detectives in Volusia County got a warrant for his arrest on a felony charge of corruption by threat against a public servant. VCSO deputies and Daytona Beach police officers checked in on Circuit Judge Stasia Warren, who was the target of McCarty's threats, and conducted extra patrols at her home. VCSO dispatchers started getting calls from McCarty at around 8 PM on Friday. Officials say his calls were extremely aggressive, vulgar, and threatening from the start. In the four calls he made, some of his statements included the following:
"I got a f****** gun pointed at your f****** building." "I'm letting you know I'm going to shoot this *****. You gonna f****** give me my kids." "A new law was just wrote. Your judge is gonna f****** die for sabotaging people's cases, you stupid b****."
Audio of McCarty's threats can be heard on the VCSO Facebook page.
