North & Central Florida Continue To See Rapid Weather Changes

Posted

Flagler & Volusia County, FL - North and Central Florida residents and visitors are seeing different pattern changes in the weather this week.

On April 4th, a number of severe thunderstorms had produced large hail across Orange and Seminole County. On Wednesday morning, there was also a tornado that moved East across Northern Okeechobee County.

With a heat wave moving across North and Central Florida, Daytona Beach broke a record on Wednesday by reaching 91 degrees, which passed the previous record of 90 degrees back in 1957.

Luckily, the heat wave will pass as a cold front comes through this weekend with temperatures dropping down to the mid-40's. However, warmer temperatures will reach the 70's by Sunday.

Residents and visitors will still need to be aware of natural disasters that could occur from the change in weather over the next couple of days.

Scott Kelly, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Melbourne said, "because of the breezy conditions and the very low relative humidity, there is a high fire danger. That is any current fires, any new ongoing fires could spread rapidly in the very dry air mass."
