Flagler County, FL- When the new school year begins at Matanzas High School August 10th in Flagler County, the construction barrels should be gone, but a new traffic pattern will be in place. County Schools spokesman Jason Wheeler says the change marks the end of three separate road projects. The final step happens this week when the city of Palm Coast removes access to Old Kings Road North from Forest Grove Drive.
Wheeler says a fence and a gate will be installed to only be used by emergency and school personnel.
Drivers can expect to see new signs and a temporary message board to let them know about the new traffic patterns.
New signals are now working at the intersection of Matanzas Woods Parkway, Palm Harbor Parkway and Old Kings Road North. There is also a new signal at Matanzas Woods Parkway and the new Old Kings Road extension.
Wheeler suggests getting familiar with the new traffic patterns before the first day of school.
