New Smyrna Beach PD Announces New Deputy Police Chief

New Smyrna Beach, FL – The new Deputy Police Chief for the New Smyrna Beach Police Department (NSBPD) has been announced. On August 11, Jessica Paugh was announced as the NSBPD’s Deputy Police Chief at a pinning ceremony held at the NSB Police Department. Paugh began her law enforcement career with the Holly Hill Police Department in 1997. There, she served as a patrol officer, criminal investigation officer and corporal. She then moved to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) in 2004 where she worked as a supervisor in the patrol division, criminal investigative division (CID), internal affairs and community service. She then moved on to be an investigator with the major case unit and a night watch commander as her last assignment with the VCSO. Paugh is originally from New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Warner Southern College and an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Daytona Beach Community College. Paugh also graduated from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Leadership Academy. As Deputy Police Chief, Paugh will oversee daily operations, accreditation, recruitment, the CID, and relations with the community.
