New AAA Survey Reveals Fear Over Totally Self-Driving Cars

Posted

Florida – In a new survey this month by AAA, drivers in the U.S. are reporting that they feel fearful of totally self-driving cars.

The numbers from this survey reveal that drivers tend to trust their own driving ability, are untrustworthy of new technology, and are reluctant about the cost of it. AAA findings show that more often than not, women are more afraid of self-driving cars than men, and Baby Boomers are more afraid of the technology than Millennials.

In response to these concerns, AAA calls on automakers to slowly introduce new technology in cars to build trust and advises individuals to conduct their own research.

“Consumers should always educate themselves concerning new car technology to fully understand the pros and cons,” says AAA – The Auto Club Group spokeswoman Montrae Waiters. “The key to consumer acceptance will be education. Autonomous vehicle safety features could potentially save lives.”

AAA plans to educate the public by continuing their commitment to unbiased testing of cars and self-driving technology.
