Name FCSO's New Bloodhound Puppy

Posted

Bunnell, FL - For the first time in decades, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office is adding a bloodhound to the K-9 unit and is asking the community for help in naming the male puppy.

When FCSO expressed the need for a bloodhound of their own after a 5-day search for juvenile Ricky Wheeler, the Honorary Consul of the Portuguese Republic in Florida, based out of Palm Coast., Dr. Caesar De Paco, personally donated the money. Dr. De Paco and his wife are known for their philanthropic work involving law enforcement.

Sheriff Rick Staly said the shepherd K-9 officers are trained for narcotics and tracking but a bloodhound will make a difference in finding missing persons with dementia, suicidal persons and others that may need to be followed quickly.

Name suggestions for the male puppy can be submitted on the FCSO Facebook page. The deadline is this Thursday and Sheriff Staly will announce the new name on Friday.
