FHP: 1 Killed, 3 Injured In Daytona Beach Motorcycle Crash On I-4

Volusia County, FL - Update: The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has confirmed that a 71-year-old man from Massachusetts is dead following a two-motorcycle crash Saturday, March 11, on I-4 East.

According to the FHP, Glen H. Sturgeon Jr., Massachusetts, came to a stop for stopped traffic ahead when his 2005 Harley-Davidson was hit from behind by a 2001 Harley-Davidson driven by Bruce E. Jussila, 75, Kissimmee.

All riders of both motorcycles were ejected. All were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where Sturgeon was pronounced dead, said the FHP.

Joyce Sturgeon, 68, was riding with Sturgeon and had minor injuries. Jussila had minor injuries and his passenger, Marianne Jusilla, 75, had serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

There has been a multi-vehicle crash in Volusia on I-4 east at Exit 129 US-92.

Traffic is backed up until MM 127, all lanes are blocked. Drivers should avoid the area.

The crash was reported at 10:24 AM. Responders are on scene and Air 1 was requested.
