Flagler County, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is investigating 52 related car burglaries that occurred overnight and early this morning at four hotels in Flagler County. Deputies and CSI personnel are processing evidence at the Hilton Garden Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express and the Hammock Beach Resort. All of the vehicles have a smashed window and many items were stolen, including 2 handguns. The break-ins occurred at the Hilton Garden Inn at 55 Town Center Blvd., the Fairfield Inn at 400 Old Kings Rd., the Holiday Inn Express at 200 Flagler Plaza Dr., and at the Hammock Beach Resort at 200 Ocean Crest Dr. Deputies believe that the crime is consistent with ones committed in Flagler County on January 22, where 18 vehicles were broken into at two area hotels. Investigators say that the burglaries may be part of a larger trend where suspects travel to different areas, break into as many vehicles as they can and leave the area. Surveillance video from one of the hotels can be seen here. The video shows a dark sedan enter the parking lot and several suspects exit the vehicle and begin breaking into other vehicles. Detectives are still collecting surveillance video from other locations. Deputies recommend before you leave your vehicle unattended, check to make sure it's locked and your alarm is activated - if you have one. Don't leave anything valuable in your car. If you have to, put your valuables in the trunk and out of sight. If you can, park in a well-lit area close to the front of businesses where more people will be able to see if something happens. Anyone with information about these crimes or others is asked to contact the Flagler County Sheriff's Office at 386-313-4911. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-8477. Callers are eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2016.
