DBPD: Motorcyclist Killed In Single Vehicle Accident

Daytona Beach, FL - A man is dead in Daytona Beach after police say he lost control of his motorcycle early Tuesday evening (October 2nd) and crashed. The Daytona Beach Police Department says the man was westbound on Midway Avenue approaching Williamson Boulevard just after 7:30 p.m. when he lost control of his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle. Witnesses stated that he was traveling over the speed limit. The man did not slow for a right-hand curve in the road and slammed into the center median curb, according to the police report. The impact sent the motorcycle and rider airborne, coming to rest on the shoulder in the eastbound lanes. The first officer to arrive started CPR. An off-duty medic passing by rendered medical aid, EVAC transported the man to Halifax Health Medical Center where he died at 10:14 p.m. The man has not been identified because next of kin has not been notified.
