Motorcyclist Killed Following Crash In Daytona After Running Red Light

Daytona Beach, FL - A 56-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Daytona Beach on Sunday night after police say he ran a red light and rammed into a car. According to Daytona Beach Police, 56-year-old motorcyclist Mark Kitterer, of Enterprise, was driving near the intersection of Clyde Morris Blvd. and Aviation Center Pkwy. at around 9:41 PM on Sunday. Kitterer crashed into the side of a car after running the red light. He was taken to Halifax Health in Daytona and died at the hospital a short time later. Police say that there was "a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the motorcyclist." A traffic homicide investigation is currently being conducted, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
