Pierson, FL - A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Astor was killed on Sunday morning when he crashed into the back of an SUV in Pierson.

Stanley Padget was riding a 2016 HD motorcycle at around 8:10 AM on June 18, headed east on State Road 40 in Pierson. He was riding behind a 2004 Chevy SUV, driven by Erika Albarran-Nunez, 39, of Pierson.

As she approached Byrd Rd., Albarran-Nunez slowed down to make a left turn. For an unknown reason, Padget didn't slow down and drove into the back of the SUV. He wasn't wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say alcohol did not play a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.
