Motorcyclist Dead In Saturday Afternoon Accident In Flagler County

Flagler County, FL-A motorcyclist is dead after an attempt to pass a pickup truck pulling a trailer failed Saturday afternoon in a no-passing zone on State Road 100 in Flagler County.  The accident happened just after 2 p.m.

According to Florida Highway Patrol investigators, the driver of the motorcycle, 67-year-old Seth Howard Sistrunk of East Palatka, attempted to pass the pickup as it was slowing down to make a left turn onto County Road 305.  Sistrunk apparently hit the left rear of the truck before getting dragged under the front of the truck.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people in the pickup, driver 27-year-old Brian C. Guidry of Palm Coast and passenger 24-year-old Shawn A. Ferris, were not injured.

Traffic was reduced to one lane on State Road 100 and County Road 305 was shut down as FHP examined the scene.
