Daytona Beach, FL – Two children are in DCF custody after one of them, a two-year-old boy, was found walking alone on Pinewood Street, approaching Mason Avenue, clad only in a soiled diaper.

A witness found the boy, took him to her home and contacted the Daytona Beach Police Department. Police canvassed the neighborhood finding the door at 824 Pinewood open. The child’s uncle came to the door and told police he fell asleep.

One of the officers said the home was in deplorable condition, with no running water, bugs everywhere and black mold covering furniture and walls.

DCF took the little boy and his 11-year-old aunt into custody.

The boy’s mother, Natasha Johnson (left), and grandmother, Brelinda Rose (right), are in the Volusia County Jail.

No bond was set for Johnson, who’s charged with child neglect and battery. A bond of $5000 was set for Rose on one charge of child neglect.
