Orange City, FL – Many University High School students stayed home Monday following the discovery that a bomb threat was written in a bathroom stall.

According to WFTV-9 News, the threat was found last week and Volusia County Schools performed a sweep of the entire school on Monday morning. Nothing relating to the threat was found. University High School ramped up security in response with several deputies and K-9 units present at the school.

Despite the school’s efforts to assure that the situation was handled, many parents decided to prevent their children from going to class on Monday.
