Bunnell, FL - A fugitive that appeared on a January episode of Sheriff Rick Staly’s Fugitive Friday Bingo video series has been apprehended after being found hiding in the attic of a Bunnell residence.
On the January 19 episode of Fugitive Friday Bingo, Sheriff Staly introduced 28-year-old Leroy Sampson Jr. He was wanted on four active warrants for fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement at a high rate of speed and three counts of the sale of a schedule II controlled substance.

At around 9 AM on Wednesday, March 21, deputies responded to the residence at 306 S. Chapel Street in Bunnell after a vehicle associated with Sampson was seen at the address. Deputies were unable to get into contact with Sampson nor were they able to get him to leave the residence. Sampson was eventually found hiding in the attic and he surrendered without incident at around 11:20 AM. According to the FCSO, Sampson has a violent offense record that dates back to 2010. Past charges against Sampson include attempted felony murder, attempted robbery, the sale of a schedule II substance, and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement. Sampson was taken to the Flagler County Detention Facility where he will remain without bond. “This is a dangerous felon that refuses to obey the law,” said Sheriff Staly. “Now he is back in jail where he belongs and hopefully on his way to prison.”
