Orange City, FL – A man was caught and arrested by Volusia County deputies after he stole a car from a funeral home in Orange City, fled to Daytona Beach, and crashed into some woods off of LPGA Blvd.

Just before 10 AM on Tuesday, 21-year-old Prince Occenat stole a black four-door Chrysler that belonged to the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City. The vehicle was unsecured and had the keys inside, according to the arrest report. Occenat sped off toward I-4 and made his way to Daytona Beach, where he hit stop sticks and ultimately crashed into the woods off LPGA Blvd. Occenat tried to take refuge in the woods.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were on the case. Air One got there in a matter of seconds and eventually spotted Occenat in the woods. Occenat was taken into custody on Tuesday. Deputies are still attempting to confirm exactly which city Occenat is from. Occenat faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and attempting to elude.
