Man Shot On Brooks St In New Smyrna Beach; Police Looking For Suspect

New Smyrna Beach, FL - A man was shot on Brooks St in New Smyrna Beach on Monday night and now police are asking for the public's help as they try to find the suspect.

Police were called at around 5:32 PM on April 17 about a shooting. They met up with the victim, Terrill Jefferson of NSB, at the Marathon gas station.

Jefferson told officers that the shooting happened in the 600 block of Brooks St. He said he was shot by an unknown black man and was hit in the right ear. After he was shot, Jefferson's girlfriend drove him to the Marathon gas station in a silver Volkswagen sedan.

Police confirmed the location of the shooting on Brook St, where they found 1 of the victim's shoes. Witnesses said the suspect left the area in a gray or silver SUV or van. He's described as a black man, about 6'1" and of a medium build.

Jefferson is being treated at Halifax Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
