Palm Coast, FL - A man is in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he drove his vehicle into the rear of a flat-bed trailer.  Florida Highway Patrol reports that 60-year-old Joseph Lippo of St. Augustine was traveling southbound on U.S. 1 about one mile before Matanzas Woods Parkway this morning (December 18, 2018) around 7:30 a.m. An 18-wheeler with a flatbed trailer was parked within the outside lane on SB U.S. 1 with the flashers on.  Lippo's vehicle hit the left rear of the trailer that was loaded with pipe.  The car spun in a clockwise direction coming to rest facing west. Lippo was airlifted to Halifax.  The driver of the 18-wheeler, Michael Tiff, was not injured.  The southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were blocked for about an hour and a half.
