Man Shot To Death At Carolina Club Apartments In Daytona Beach

Volusia County, FL - A man was killed during a domestic disturbance at the Carolina Club Apartments in Daytona Beach Sunday afternoon.

According to the Daytona Beach Police Department, units responded to 100 Carolina Lake Drive, apartment 105, at 12:50 AM, Feb. 5. Upon arrival, 1 male was found outside to the rear of the building. Anthony Fields, 44, had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A domestic disturbance between the suspect, Dominick Neeley, Jr., 21, and his ex-girlfriend, Chakera Fields, 20, occurred at the home of Chakera's mother, Chaka Fields, 41. Neeley called his mother, Pearl Hodges, 37.  When she arrived, a fight occurred between Hodges and Chaka Fields.

Neeley went to his car to retrieve a gun then returned to the residence where he shot Anthony Fields, husband of Chaka Fields. The gun was recovered at the scene and Neeley will be charged with murder.

Chakera Fields suffered a black eye and Chaka Fields was grazed by a bullet in the incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was treated at Halifax Hospital.
