DeLand, FL - A man in DeLand was arrested after pulling out a machete and injuring another man in the face at a bank during a fight in the parking lot, according to DeLand Police. Police responded at around 11:20 AM Monday after a victim reported the incident. The man who wielded the machete has been identified as 70-year-old Arlen Hubbard.  The victim, 68-year-old George Dominguez, suffered a facial laceration after the dispute at the Bank of America parking lot located at 230 Woodland Drive in DeLand. According to the preliminary investigation, police say the fight started after Hubbard nearly hit Dominguez with his vehicle. Dominguez "banged" on Hubbard's car window, and a verbal argument ensued because Dominguez says Hubbard almost hit him. The fight escalated outside the vehicle where the two men began pushing each other. That's when Hubbard took out a machete and cut Dominguez across the face. Reports indicate that Hubbard hit Dominguez with the "flat side" of the machete and that Hubbard attempted to provide Dominguez with tissues to stop the bleeding. Dominguez was taken to Halifax Health in Daytona with non life-threatening injuries. Reports indicate that the two men did not know each other. Hubbard faces charges of felony aggravated battery. He was taken into custody with $5,000 bond.
