Man In Daytona Hospitalized After Being Critically Injured By Hit & Run Driver

Daytona Beach, FL - A man in Daytona Beach was critically injured Monday night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver along Derbyshire Rd., according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The man was walking southbound on Derbyshire Rd. at around 7:35 PM on Monday when he was hit by an unknown red passenger vehicle at the intersection of Derbyshire Rd. and 10th St. The driver fled the scene of the crash. The red vehicle had front-end damage and is missing a side mirror, according to FHP. The pedestrian was taken to Halifax Health in Daytona. The pedestrian's name and identity have not yet been released but will be released pending confirmation of identification.
