Astor, FL - A man was killed in Astor, on the border of Volusia County, after he was hit by his pickup truck he was originally driving when the truck stalled and then began to move in reverse after the man exited the vehicle. 25-year-old Jase Kanger, of Halifax, Georgia, was with his wife, 25-year-old Kelsi Kanger, in a driveway at 1963 Camp South Moon Rd. in Astor at around 7:20 PM on Tuesday. His wife was in the passenger's seat of the vehicle, a Dodge pickup truck, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports. According to FHP, the truck was still in reverse as it started to back up. As the truck moved backward, the front left tire truck ran over the man. His wife was able to stop the vehicle, but the man had to be airlifted to the hospital. Jase Kanger died at the hospital from his injuries, according to FHP.
