Spring to Spring Trail

Volusia County, FL-The newest segment of the Spring-to Spring Trail will be the setting for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a celebration of water quality enhancements on Friday. County Council will cut the ribbon at the trailhead at 2100 W. Blue Springs Avenue in Orange City.

The ribbon-cutting takes place at 9 A.M., followed by the water quality celebration at 10:30 A.M. at the riverside pavilion.

The $3.1 million segment features an underpass at French Avenue and a pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks at Blue Springs Avenue. The Spring-to-Spring Trail is a work in progress, with a new segment reaching completion almost every year.

The trail system has passed the half-way point, with more than 15 miles of completed trail segments. When complete, the Spring-to-Spring Trail will stretch 26 miles from Gemini Springs Park to DeLeon Springs State Park. It is being designed to accommodate walkers, joggers, inline skaters, bicyclists and people with disabilities. To date, Volusia County has completed several segments of the trail totaling nearly 15 miles.

In addition, five trailheads have been built for your convenience at DeBary Hall Historic Site, Gemini Springs Park, Lake Monroe Park, Lake Beresford Park, Blue Spring State Park and along Grand Avenue in Glenwood.
