Jury Sent Home Early During Trial Of Deltona Man Accused Of Triple Murder

St. Augustine, FL - A jury was sent home early Wednesday during the trial of the Deltona man accused of triple murder after defense attorneys objected to the prosecution playing a recording of investigators interviewing him. Luis Toledo, of Deltona, was accused in 2013 of killing his wife, Yessenia Suarez, and his stepchildren, Thalia and Michael Otto, who went missing from their Deltona home in October of 2013. Their bodies have not been found. During Wednesday's trial proceedings, the prosecution played a recording of an interview between Toledo and investigators, and defense attorneys objected six minutes into the recording. The defense objected to Toledo's use of the word "lesbian" in the recording to describe one of Suarez's cousins. The judge asked jurors to leave the room for more than an hour so attorneys could read a transcript of the recording, and the jury was later sent home for the day.
