Jury Deliberates Toledo Sentence; Death Requires Unanimous Decision

St Augustine, FL – Closing arguments for the sentencing of the Deltona man convicted of triple murder ended Friday.

Luis Toledo faces the death penalty after being convicted of murdering his wife, Yessenia Suarez, and her two kids, Michael and Thalia Otto. Toledo’s lawyers argued that a life prison sentence is a harsher punishment than death.

The jury began deliberating at around 3 PM on Friday. In order for Toledo to receive a death sentence, the jury must unanimously agree on the death penalty. But, the judge for the case will ultimately make the final decision.
