Daytona Beach, FL - A judge has sentenced a Daytona Beach man to life in prison for a deadly 2016 hammer attack.
Arenthius Jenkins, 34, severely beat Terry Gross and killed Billy Ford in April 2016. The men were working on a vacant home next door to Jenkins’ grandmother’s house. Jenkins’ mother, who was a witness, said her son struggled with mental illness and drug abuse and that he did not know what he was doing.
Last month, the judge presiding over the case denied Jenkins' insanity defense.
