Volusia County, FL-The judge in a court hearing involving DeBary Mayor Clint Johnson has denied a motion for a temporary injunction against a hearing to remove him from office on June 1.
Johnson's attorney argued that Johnson would be harmed by the hearing and that City Council has already decided that the Mayor has violated the City Charter.
The City Attorney said that the court should not intervene before the city takes action. He also said that the time for Johnson to take legal action would be if the public hearing is not in his favor.
Debary City Council asked for the public hearing, claiming the Mayor gave orders to two city employees via email & text. Johnson claims they were not orders.
