Daytona Beach, FL - January 2017 condo sales declined, while sales prices increased in the Daytona Beach area, according to an analysis of the Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service (MLS) data by the Wyse Home Team at Keller Williams Realty.

Total sales dropped 18% last month when compared to the same month last year, from 92 in 2016 to 75 in 2017, but median sales prices rose sharply during that same period. In January of 2017 the median sales price was $188,000. In January 2016 it was at $153,500.

Sales dropped 15% last month when compared to the 89 condo and condotel sales this past December, but prices were up by 6%. The median sales price for condos and condotels in December of 2016 was $177,253.

"We entered a new year with continued growth in median sales prices, but we're still seeing depressed sales numbers," said Ron Wysocarski, CEO of The Wyse Team at Keller Williams Realty. "Buyer demand continues to be steady and inventory levels remain down, so now is still a great opportunity for newly listed sellers to reel in strong offers on their units."
