DeLand, FL-The tractor trailer crash that closed I-4 WB for hours through the DeLand area happened at the worst place possible-right in the construction zone where construction jersey walls had to be moved before any traffic could get by.

FHP PIO Sgt Kim Montes says the postal truck swerved to avoid tire debris in the roadway and crashed. A trooper was on scene trying to remove the tire at the time of the crash. Montes says the driver was not hurt but the truck spilled fuel at the crash scene. Montes says usually troopers can flush traffic out of the area on nearby ramps, but the crash happened in a construction zone making that impossible. The construction company had to remove those concrete walls in order for any traffic to get by the crash scene. The crash happened aroun 5 AM. The interstate didn't reopen until around 10 AM today.
