Palm Coast, FL - The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for obstruction of justice after he refused to leave his home, where detectives were investigating the suspicious death of his wife. Deputies responded to a medical call at 6 Point Pleasant Dr. in Palm Coast just before 8 AM on Thursday. Shortly after arriving on scene, paramedics declared Faith Lorraine Cummings, 44, dead. Her husband, 46-year-old Michael Cummings, was at the home and told deputies that Faith had fallen after taking a shower. Sheriff's detectives, the FDLE Crime Scene Unit, and the medical examiner were all called to the house to conduct a thorough investigation. Michael Cummings was asked several times to leave the home so that detectives could thoroughly investigate the scene, but he refused and was arrested for obstruction of justice. He was booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility on Thursday night on the misdemeanor charge. “At this point, it is a death investigation,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We’re taking all of the necessary steps so that if this does turn into a criminal investigation, we will have a thorough understanding of the entire area in order to prosecute any potential suspects. The best case scenario is that this turns out to be a medical issue and there is no foul play. Only the ongoing investigation can determine that.”
