Homeless Woman With Machete Threatens Library Worker

Palm Coast, FL - A homeless woman who made a written threat against library staff was found with a machete in her possession.

And that woman has been in trouble with the same Palm Coast library before.

"This wasn't the first time the woman had threatened our custodian," said Holly Albanese, the Library Director. "I had given her a warning just last week, and I told her that she would be trespassed if it happened again."

According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, 40-year-old Jennifer Vega wrote the words "I will kill you!" on a divider in the library's restroom last Saturday (March 9th).

One custodian, who has had other encounters with Vega, believes the message was intended for her.

Vega, along with a "tent mate," was trespassed from the library by FCSO.

When deputies arrived, they found a machete at their feet.

"We face problems daily," Albanese said. "There had been a third person with them but he left before the deputy arrived. There was a machete at their feet but it isn't clear who it belonged to."

Last week, plans to relocate the homeless near that same library to clean up the area was scrapped following complaints from the public.
