DeLeon Springs, FL - Deputies are searching at this hour for a 33-year-old homeless man involved in the shooting of another man.

Dillon L. Parker faces charges of attempted murder, felony battery and aggravated battery with a firearm once found, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

VCSO spokesperson Laura Williams says it all happened just after 5 a.m. Saturday (November 10th) at a home on West Avenue, about a mile south of DeLeon Springs State Park.

"Witnesses at the scene told deputies the victim and shooter argued in the driveway at the residence," Williams added. "Then the shooter was observed shooting at the victim as he ran toward the home. The shooter immediately fled."

Paramedics took the victim - also a 33-year-old man - to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He's currently listed in critical condition.

Williams tells us that Parker has been "positively identified" as the shooter.

"[Parker] is known to the victim," Williams stated. "This was not a random incident."

VCSO has yet to release any other details about the incident.

Parker is a white male who stands around 6'5 and weighs between 270 to 280 pounds. He's known to frequent the DeLand area.

Volusia County Jail records show he's been booked there 26 times since October 2004, including most recent this past October on a battery charge.

Authorities are urging anyone who knows where Parker is to call 911 immediately or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS to remain anonymous and possibly qualify for a cash reward.
