Daytona Beach, FL – For the third consecutive month, home sales fall around the Daytona Beach area.
The Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reported that 435 single-family homes were sold in the area, with a median sales price of $230,500.
That’s a 7% drop in sales compared to March of 2018 and a nearly 2% decline in median prices.
“Home sales weren’t as robust as we hoped during the first quarter of the year, but there is still strength in the market,” said Ron Wysocarski, broker and CEO of Wyse Home Team Realty in Port Orange.
In comparison to February, sales were up by 52% but prices were down by 2%. Year to date, single-family home sales are down by more than 9% in the area, while prices are up by 3%.
Inventory levels rose again in March. There were 75 more homes on the market than were available during February, and 7% more listing than were available in March of 2018.
Year to date, inventory levels are also up 7%, according to the MLS.
And, according to an analysis done by Wyse Home Team Realty, Ormond Beach showed the strongest sales totals in March.
However, sales and median prices in the city were down by more than 15% from last March, where 121 homes were sold with a median sales price of $250,000.
