DeLand, FL – A Holly Hill man was convicted of first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly firearm on Friday for the 2013 killing of Donald Dean Clark.

A Volusia County Jury made up of 4 men and 2 women deliberated for around 3 hours before convicting 20-year-old Emmanuel A. Butler of those charges. Butler’s facing a life sentence. The sentencing hearing has not yet been set.

The jury found that Butler shot and killed 67-year-old Clark on June 2, 2013, while he was doing laundry at the Golfview Apartment Complex in South Daytona. Butler rode to the scene on his bicycle, then after the murder stole Clark’s vehicle. A short time later Butler abandoned that vehicle.

Butler has several prior felony convictions.

Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano presided over the case and will pronounce the sentencing.
