Daytona Beach, FL-The bi-annual political "Hobnob" event put on by the Daytona Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce is Tuesday night at the Ocean Center. The Chamber has done the "Hobnob" since 1992. The Chamber's Jim Cameron says highlights will include a debate between candidates for Volusia County Council chair. Jason Davis, the current chairman, squares off against challenger Ormond Beach Mayor Ed Kelley. Also on tap, a straw vote that Cameron says, in the past, has been a pretty good indicator of how upcoming political races will end in November. Cameron says it's a really great event for getting some one-on-one "face time" with local candidates. Tickets are $30 for the event after October 1. The "Hobnob" is 4PM to 8PM. There will be food, beer, and wine at the event. More info on the event is here.
