Hilton In Daytona Beach Finishes $25M Renovation, Debuts New Name

Daytona Beach, FL – The Hilton in Daytona Beach has a brand-new name and a new $25 million renovated interior and exterior. The hotel will now be known as the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort instead of the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort/Ocean Walk Village.  The renovations, which began in 2016, improved the hotel’s meeting and event spaces, dining areas, entertainment venues, pools, beachside cabanas, guest common areas, and lobby. “One goal of the renovation was to create a true resort environment where our guests can unwind, and we’ve always felt that our prime oceanfront location is one of the most appealing aspects of the experience we offer,” said Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort General Manager, Jim Berkley. “So, we decided to take one of our best attributes and make it an official part of our name. We sought a shorter, more concise identity that directly incorporates our oceanfront locale in order to better reflect the sense of place our property offers. With the newly redesigned spaces and upscale amenities brought about through our renovation, it seemed like the ideal time to make a change in how we identify ourselves.” The 60,000-square foot meeting space now has new wall coverings, light fixtures, and carpeting. The ocean view room now has new furniture, lighting, and access to the North Tower deck in addition to its existing floor-to-ceiling view of the ocean. The hotel’s 30 beachfront cabana suites were all fully renovated, including beach-washed porcelain tile, curtains, furniture, bathroom fixtures, new showers with rain showerheads, granite-topped entertainment consoles and semi-private beachfront patios. The pools have been updated with new decking, more seating and lounge chairs, furniture, landscaping and a waterfall. The Pelican Bar, now The Blind Turtle, was moved and renamed to give guests a full view of the beach as well as given an updated menu.

The south tower lobby bar was renamed from Clocktower Lounge to McCoys Rum Room. The bar's seating, tables, and a u-shaped bar was updated and a stage for live performances was built. Don Ricos Fresh-Mex Grill, which replaced the Legends Sports Bar, will open on October 19.

The hotel lobby was redesigned and new signs were added to the exterior. The D-Dawg’s Kidzone play area, Beach Emporium Gift Shop, and The Spa at the Hilton were also a part of the renovation. The spa specifically was fully renovated.

“This is a period of rebirth for our property, and we're excited to unveil all of the updates we’ve made as a result of the renovation to locals and visitors alike,” said Berkley. “Our hotel has a rich Daytona Beach history, and these latest updates celebrate that, while allowing us to evolve the quintessential oceanfront experience we offer all under one roof.” All photos courtesy of the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort.
