Halifax Humane Society Unveils Renovated Adoption Kennels

dog and cat long Daytona Beach, FL - Halifax Humane Society is showing off the shelter's newly renovated dog adoption kennels. HHS says the work was done with a $360,000 grant from the ASPCA-The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The renovation will help prevent transmission of disease and boasts state of the art seamless flooring systems and glass kennel doors. The area also has sound suppression ceilings and special air flow management. Miguel Abi-Hassan, CEO, says “Throughout time, we have learned that simply adding kennels does not address the underlying issues of animal welfare. Our new kennels will facilitate a healthier and more inviting environment leading to better adopter experiences. These will improve our life-saving programs holistically by increasing turnover and reducing stressors.” HHS continues to work toward next month's opening of the rest area and dog park at the facility along I-95 at LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach.
