Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The Halifax Humane Society in Daytona is partnering with Rescue Rebuild and local volunteers in order to complete renovations of the existing kennels in the aging intake of the shelter. Rescue Rebuild is a shelter renovation program associated with the charitable organization GreaterGood.org. The program recruits volunteers from all over the country to help animal shelters in need. The organization travels to selected shelters to complete general repairs and renovations, according to Halifax Humane Society. “We are excited to be partnering with the Halifax Humane Society as they continue to set an example for how an animal shelter can be tremendously successful in creating an amazing animal culture in the community,” Bryna Donnelly, Director of Rescue Rebuild explains. “The passion shown by the staff and leadership is amazing, and we’re glad to be able to help further their mission to improve the lives of animals in Daytona Beach.” The updates to the Halifax Humane Society will include new kennel doors and covers, a fresh coat of paint, new ceiling fans, and new colors to make the space more inviting. Volunteers will also build a new play yard and make improvements to the existing play yards for the shelter's dogs. “Getting these great animals time outside is absolutely critical, as it makes them calmer, more adoptable dogs that find forever homes faster,” Zach Baker, Program Manager at Rescue Rebuild says. Rescue Rebuild is dependent on volunteers to complete its projects, and the renovation project at Halifax Humane Society Daytona will include local volunteers, along with a group of students from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. The renovation will take place from now until January 10. If you would like to volunteer, you can find out more here. Copyright Southern Stone Communications 2018.
