Halifax Humane Society Offering $5 Cat Adoptions This Memorial Day Weekend

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL – This Memorial Day weekend, the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach is lowering the price of cat adoptions.

From Friday, May 26, to Monday, May 29, adoptions of cats 1 year and older will cost $5. Spaying, neutering, up-to-date vaccinations and registered microchips will also be included with no extra fee. 2017 will mark the 7th year of their Memorial Day weekend event and in 2016, more than 65 cats were adopted.

There is an increased population in cats due to the warm weather coinciding with the breeding season and the warm winters we've been having. So, according to Halifax Humane Society, there are cats of all sizes, colors and personalities available.

During the event, Luck of the Draw for dog adoptions will also take place where you have the chance to draw a 5%, 10% or 15% discount on dog adoptions. Also, men and women who have served in the military can get up to $70 off their dog adoption with a military ID.

Cats and dogs that are currently available at Halifax Humane Society can be viewed here.

“Please continue to support your local Halifax Humane Society,” says Barry Kukes, the Community Outreach Director of Halifax Humane Society. “We do the best we possibly can trying to find animals and care for them and get them new homes. We need your help, as always, so come on down and take a look at an animal and adopt one today.”
